Deborah Orchard, counsellor and psychotherapist with over 20 years experience

I am a well-qualified and experienced Counsellor / Psychotherapist with over 20 years’ experience providing a competent and professional service. My approach to therapy is integrative, humanistic and centred firmly around you and your individual needs – no matter your age or background.

I have experience and training in a number of evidence-based and NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) recommended therapies. In particular I use:

Qualifications & Experience

In addition to the above qualifications and as part of my continued professional development, I have attended a significant number of master-classes / workshops / conferences relating to issues arising in counselling / psychotherapy.

I attend regular supervision for my work and I am bound by the BACP Code of Ethics.

Accreditations

Accreditation is a process which takes time, experience and training to achieve, and therefore assures you of a high standard of professional and continued care.

I also hold an up-to-date DBS Record check.

I have previously worked for the NHS as a Psychological therapist within a busy IAPT service offering psychological support and supervision. I also have experience working within a Community Mental Health Team (NHS) as a Bereavement and Loss Counsellor, as well as working within a Hospice which has given me invaluable experience when working with all areas of loss. I currently work in my own private practice.

My Consulting Room

I am able to offer appointments in person and online via Zoom/Skype.

I offer a secluded, comfortable, quiet consulting room in Hassocks, West Sussex which offers off road parking and is a 15 minute walk from Hassocks Station and is close to Albourne, Brighton, Burgess Hill, Ditchling, Haywards Heath and Hurstpierpoint.
